I have to admit that I have always been quick to criticise the National Trust, especially when they let mature trees just rot and disintegrate instead of harvesting them…
"Crann" is the Irish word for tree. It is also the name we chose for the organisation which was founded in 1986 to help bring broadleaved trees back into Ireland.
With the passing of James in July, I now feel able to spread the word about our late patron’s remarkable tree growing and experiments so that others can learn from his work.
